Happy Smiles

Background
Plenty of infancy children can not pay the plastic surgery expenses for repairing of complete cleft lip and palate owing to impoverished families in remote and poor regions in our country. These children are suffering great pressure from families, social discriminations, life, study, and work etc. Lots of children are losing the optimal moment for repairing surgery because they stood in the need of money.
China Population Welfare Foundation launched charity public beneficial activity-“happy smile” in 2002. The mission of this program is to assist the impoverished cleft lip and palate’s children to have repairing surgery for free through funds-raising, so they can happily smile again.

Features
1. Quality first- this project pays great attention to quality, has the security of surgery, and designs the individual repaired plan for each cleft lip and palate patient separately by working group according to their different conditions.
2. Superb medical skills- this project will invite international orthopedics experts, anesthetists and professor of nursing to do repairing surgeries in person with high quality.
3. Humanistic care- foreign doctors treated the patients as friends and families, they cuddles, loves, and encourages those children, such as encouraging words “From now on, you are the most beautiful kids!”
4. International volunteers- sincerely and honestly foreign friends send their love to patients and their families in the remote and impoverished regions in China.

1. Poverty-stricken patient first-the Foundation firstly supplied medical treatment for the impoverished patients in remote and poor regions according to the national family planning system.
2. Great value of treatment- 3 hours repairing surgery will change children’s whole life
3. Perfect network- perfect nationwide family planning network takes great advantages of the general examination, organization, operation management, and post-operation visiting.
4. Good cooperation-the Foundation has good relationship with all relevant organizations.

Grantee
10 to 18 years old cleft lip patients from impoverished families
10 to 12 years old palate anomalies patients from impoverished families

Long term goal
All cleft lip and palate anomalies patients from impoverished families can have the repairing surgery before 2 years old, so they won’t feel hurt or melancholy any more when they go to kindergarten or school.

Short term goal
2000 cleft lip and palate anomalies patients, from impoverished families, can perform their repairing surgeries for free in the near future.

How can you help?
In order to help more cleft lip and palate anomalies children, our foundation established special funds-Happy Smile for those surgeries expenses. Welcome all circles of society support and take part in this donation activity.
4000 RMB can support all surgery expenses for one patient, which included in food, hotel, transportation, pre-operation checking, accidental insurance, and post-operation visiting. It doesn’t matter how much you donated, it matters that your love will change all cleft lip and palate anomalies children’s life; and they will enjoy more colorful life because of you.
